Job Description

Main purpose of the job
The Technical Advisor Malaria will be the primary point of contact for the Sub recipients and service delivery points on Malaria issues. Reporting to the Project Coordinator, the Technical Advisor Malaria will closely work with the Finance Manager, Program Administrator, M&E Manager concerns affecting the Grants Management. She will take responsibility to ensure overall coordination of the implementation of the Grants and monitoring and evaluation of Malaria activities and provision of related technical support, training and capacity building to the Sub-recipients.

- National Medical guidelines, procedures and standards monitored for adherence by the Sub-recipients and service delivery points
- Capacity building of recipients done
- Training activities organized and coordinated
- Work plans and budgets form different sub-recipients reviewed
- Technical support provided for sub-recipients in planning, implementation and monitoring, and evaluation of programmatic activities
- Program services monitored and regular reports made available plans and budgets drawn up for programme services
- Program specific models obtained and tested
- Feedback shared and corrective action taken where necessary

Minimum academic qualifications:
- Bachelors of medicine and surgery (MBChB) and Masters in public health

Additional Training necessary
- Malaria Case Management especially ICCM
- Understanding the major principles of malaria prevention in the country
- Trainer of Trainers and facilitation skills
- Training of HIV/AIDS counselling

Minimum Experience and Exposure:
- The ideal candidate should be a senior medical officer with atleast 5 years experience in public health (HIV/AIDS/TB and Malaria) or field related to program/project management, two of which should be in a supervisory position
- Experience in civil society organization or ministry of health programs
- Demonstrated experience in the design of M&E programs and data collection instruments
- Proven experience in preparation and analysis of work plans, complex programmatic and financial reports

-Current National and international health statistic especially Malaria National and international declarations and commitments
- National Malaria strategic framework including policies and procedures
- HIV/AIDS/Malaria diagnostics and management
